Virtual Voice Performance Project 3 (VVPP 3) is a cohort-based research and creative experience for University of North Dakota undergraduates, planned for spring 2027. Participants join the next phase of development of an AI voice training app for North Dakota, designed to support choir teachers in rural and underserved communities by giving their students individual vocal feedback between rehearsals, helping every singer build confidence and sing independently.

Building on the AI tools and virtual performance practices explored in VVPP I and II, the cohort brings together undergraduates in music, computer science, and other disciplines to contribute their expertise to that work. Guided collaboration, group check-ins, and structured reflection invite students to think critically about how technology can extend what teachers offer, strengthening the teacher-student relationship rather than standing in for it. The cohort also asks how such technology can widen access to quality voice instruction for singers without regular access to private lessons or certified voice teachers.
